Benjamin Malick’s ‘Tales of Sarab’ Opens in Dubai

A multimedia exploration of UAE’s evolving landscape

La Ville Hotel & Suites will host Benjamin Malick’s latest exhibition, Tales of Sarab, from 12 March to 28 April 2025. The show presents Malick’s reflections on life in the UAE, a theme he has explored since moving to the country in 2020.

Malick, an Algerian-Tunisian artist, works from his Hatta studio in the Hajar Mountains. His practice combines photography, light mapping, and projected images, creating layered, three-dimensional pieces that examine the contrasts of the UAE’s desert landscapes against skyscrapers and tradition alongside rapid urban growth.

The exhibition introduces the first two chapters of Tales of Sarab, including Portals, which explores themes of connection and transformation. Malick incorporates found materials like concrete slabs and reclaimed wood, adding another layer of meaning to his work.

Tales of Sarab offers a perspective on identity, history, and progress through immersive, experimental visuals.
