THREE CUTS above

The family-owned steakhouse has opened on the roof of Nakheel Mall

Embodying the charm of an old-school steakhouse infused with lazy elegance, THREE CUTS is the latest dining destination on the rooftops of Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah. This home-grown concept, brought to life by father-and-son duo Joe and Jason Bassili, blends beautiful high ceilings and arches with an atmosphere that encourages relaxation and enjoyment.

The carefully curated one-page menu reflects the simplicity and sophistication of a classic steakhouse, focusing on three quintessential cuts of meat: sirloin, tenderloin, and ribeye. The menu also features chef’s specialities, from porterhouse steaks to tomahawks, allowing guests to indulge in timeless flavours. The restaurant’s design complements its old-school identity, offering intimate booth seating and a chef’s table beneath overhanging grill chandeliers.

Beyond the meat, a raw bar caters to a diverse clientele with offerings like oysters and salmon tartare.

For starters, the salmon and beef carpaccio were standout dishes, with perfectly balanced flavours and just the right amount of spice, embodying the understated elegance of the venue. When it came to the mains, which included a selection of steaks, chicken, and shrimp, the focus remained on the beautifully cooked meat, paired with complementary sauces that enhanced the experience and left us craving more.

The dessert menu offered a range of old-school delights, from Ricotta & Pear Tart to Chocolate Soufflés and refreshing sorbets, providing the perfect end to a meal, alongside an impressive variety of wines and beverages.

But the allure of THREE CUTS goes beyond its dining areas. Hidden within its walls is a Speakeasy Club, destined to become a local favourite. With its seductive ambience and retro design, this exclusive space offers an intimate experience reminiscent of a bygone era, complete with disco-inspired décor and groovy beats from resident DJs. Stepping into this part of the venue felt like being transported to NYC, where familiar beats played, and cocktails crafted by skilled bartenders hit the mark.

What makes THREE CUTS even more special is its family-run nature. The Bassili duo, who own several restaurants and kitchens across Dubai—including Sal’s Bistro, Sal’s Sushi Bar, Sal’s Burger Kitchen and Casa Della Pasta in Depachika Food Hall at Nakheel Mall —are at the helm of this venture. Jason Bassili, the CEO of Bassili Co. Group, is the driving force behind THREE CUTS. He also runs the Middle East’s leading salmon smoking factory, Le Fumoir by Joe Bassili, and partners in ventures like Soul Kitchen, the soon-to-open Reunion Night Club. Known as the Salmon King, Jason imports and smokes around 30 tonnes of fresh salmon weekly.
