Daniela Cassab creates gorgeous fashion while caring for the environment
Tell us about your business – what inspired the idea and when did you start it?
Dan Cassab is a fashion brand I started five years ago in Mexico City. It came from the idea of dressing celebrities since I was a stylist and usually had pieces made for them. I started producing pieces after that because clients started requesting them and word of mouth was how we started to grow.
What do you consider to be your greatest personal and professional achievements?
My greatest personal achievement is I have learned how to be an independent woman and have gotten to know what I am capable of creating, everything I have imagined has been manifested.
My greatest professional achievement has been to expose Dan Cassab worldwide. We have clients and followers who know that we are a sustainable and conscious business, we always tell our story and we are proud of the artisans that create each piece portrayed in the collection.
What are the keys to creating a profitable business?
First and foremost is discipline, I strongly believe that having constant goals keeps you focused and on the path of conquering what you are visualising.
Having an audience that likes your product is important and you are responsible for delivering new creative silhouettes that are always game changers and keeping you ahead of your game, uniqueness, and authenticity are key.
Quality is an important factor that I always look into, I am aware our community loves to wear pristine pieces.
What were your biggest business challenges? How did you overcome them?
Business always has challenges,. I don’t have a specific one but I do know that the best way to overcome each one is by not being reactive when the situation appears and to learn how to see things from a larger perspective. I always know things happen for a reason, they happen for you not to you, so I take challenges as opportunities to grow.
What three pieces of advice would you give to the younger generation that might want to follow in your footsteps?
What advice were you given when you started, and did it help?
The best advice I received was to dream big with no limits. This has made me think that everything is possible and we are capable of creating whatever we desire.
How do you manage the daily stress that comes with running a business?
I always take time for myself; I love to exercise and meditate daily. This will keep you centered and balanced.
If you look back over your life and career, if you were allowed to do anything different would you?
No regrets.
What is important to you?
To live a great story! I believe we are here for a very short time and we are blessed to have the opportunity to live such great and amazing things. It’s important to be grateful and to be aware of how we can share our light with others.
Have your priorities changed as you have matured? If so, how?
We are always in constant change, we always evolve and become a different version of ourselves. I believe this is part of being human and is also the beauty of it. To embrace each new version of what we create and to make a new list of priorities every time we feel we need to.
What inspires you?
Inspiration comes from so many places, when I travel I get connected to new cultures, smells, and colours! I also get inspired in my daily life by connecting with friends, listening to music, a beautiful sunset!
Do you prioritise your mental health, and how?
Consciousness is everything. To be aware that cause and effect exists and we are responsible for creating the life that we desire. I believe we have to work on ourselves to achieve the greatest version that we can be.
It’s a blessing to be aware of all the tools we have as humans and how we can live our fullest potential.
